Life Line Screening was established in 1993, in Florida (USA) by a physician and an executive at an ultrasound company who felt that strokes could be prevented if individuals were screened for the major risk factor for stroke, blocked carotid arteries. The current ownership got involved in 1996 and eventually bought the company in 1999.
Growth was eminent under the new ownership, and the company began expanding nationwide. Now the nation’s largest screening service, Life Line Screening has screened over 5 million people across the United States and is expanding internationally.

Screenings offered include testing for carotid artery disease, peripheral artery disease, abdominal aortic aneurysms and osteoporosis. A complete blood panel test was added in 2006 and is being rolled out across the United States. New products are constantly in the pipeline are being actively market tested.
